PAIN & DISCOMFORT

You may worry about the pain and discomfort that you may experience during the session.

The first session usually involves a thorough assessment.

A detailed assessment helps identify the root cause of your symptoms.

During the assessment, your physiotherapist may ask you to perform certain movements or exercises that could reproduce your symptoms.

Reproducing symptoms helps the therapist identify the specific structures or movements causing the pain or discomfort.

This can be crucial for developing an accurate treatment plan tailored to your condition.

While some discomfort might be expected, it's important that any pain experienced is manageable.

EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT

It is understandable when clients who had ineffective treatments in the past may doubt the efficacy of a new one. Especially those with complex or chronic conditions, they may doubt that physiotherapy can address all their issues.

The only way we physiotherapist can help you feel confident in the effectiveness of your treatment and stay motivated throughout your recovery journey is by addressing these concerns and maintaining an open and supportive communication.

Feel free to openly discuss such concerns with your physiotherapist.

Be it, how long it will take to see improvements and how will progress be.

UNFAMILIARITY WITH PROCEDURES

There is always anxiety about the unknown, especially when you are new to physiotherapy and unsure of what to expect during the session.

During your first initial consult, there will be a detailed assessment which includes a range of questions to gather comprehensive information about your condition, medical history and goals.

There will be a physical examination to identify functional impairments which includes observing your posture, gait and general movement patterns, assessing the range and quality of movements in different joints, assessing strength of specific muscle groups in order to accurately diagnose conditions, identify functional imitations and develop individualized treatment plans.

Initial session is primarily about understanding your condition and creating a tailored treatment plan.

Of course, there will be treatment during the first session.

Types of treatments and exercises will based on the detailed assessment and is adjusted based on your comfort level and progress.
